The Business Council of New Orleans needed help finding a replacement for the third-party project management platform made available to their members as a collaboration tool.
After some meetings, research and evaluations, we both decided that a single tool would not fit their needs and we began discussing a new members-only website.
In the next stage, we met with BCNO staff and members and came up with a straightforward list of functions the new website must perform, along with a few more that would be useful. That led to the creation of our Project Summary that included the following:
- Project Overview
- Member level access control hierarchy
- Summaries of the 3 primary components
- Online Member Directory
- Document Repository
- Event Calendar
- Additional components to be added in a second phase
Soon after we designed and developed the BCNO Member Portal v 1.0:

The invaluable time spent collaborating on the Project Summary provided the clear direction that allowed us to design, develop and deploy the site in a relatively short amount of time without any major changes to the deployment schedule. Proof that planning pays off in deployment and beyond.
